Tuesday

Well today is the day Jesse has his talk. I'm very excited. As mentioned yesterday, I was going to discuss Rated R and what I mean by Rated R of course I mean Rated R movies or even Rated R music.

What brought me to this subject is because of another brother who was at the convention talking about a movie that he wanted to see and invited me to it. I told him that I would get back to him during the week. I looked up the movie and it was Rated R. This is what the motion picture association of America states about Rated R rating.
.....................................................................................

An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material. An R-rated motion picture may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements, so that parents are counseled to take this rating very seriously. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated motion pictures unaccompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about R-rated motion pictures in determining their suitability for their children. Generally, it is not appropriate for parents to bring their young children with them to R-rated motion pictures.

Let's say Jesus was on earth today. I want you to picture yourself going to the movies but on the way to the movies you call Jesus on your Iphone to invite him. Jesus gets in the car and off you go to the movies. You get to the theater and you, your brothers, and Jesus are there picking a movie to watch.

Would you really select a movie that contains some adult material with Jesus?
Would you really select a movie that contains hard language with Jesus?
What about sexually oriented nudity or drug abuse, would you select that movie if Jesus was with you?

Let's speak reality. Jesus is in Heaven right now. You go with your friends to the movies. Do you honestly think that Jesus doesn't see what you are watching? He can see you. I couldn't understand why that brother wanted to watch this movie? He called and I spoke to him. I asked him, Brother so and so, if Jesus wouldn't watch this kind of movie then why should we?

He said that the movie was harmless. Hebrews 3:12 States: Beware, brothers, for fear there should ever develop in any one of you a wicked heart lacking faith by drawing away from the living God. That's what it felt like when he said it was harmless. That's its just a movie. Brothers & sisters that kind of thinking needs to change. The brother that I'm talking about needed to change his thinking. I told him that Jehovah would not approve of us watching that kind of movie and here is the scripture to back it up.

After our discussion I think he got the point. We need to use wisdom when it comes to what we watch or what we do in life. If we don't sooner or later our spiritual health will be in danger. Our relationship with Jehovah will be in danger. What about Horror movies? Look at the ratings. What does it contain? What about Action movies, look at the ratings. What does it contain? We have to use caution in all area's of our lives so that Satan does not win. What we do personally, our association, our conduct, what we view, what we listen to can hurt us spiritually and if we watch what we do, it will help us spiritually.

Till tomorrow. Have a great day.
