When I think of my Faith it brings a smile to my face. When I think of those in my Faith it brings a smile to my face. My family is in the same faith and that also brings a smile to my face.
Imagine how those that followed Jesus felt, knowing they had the truth. They were happy even though everyone was against them. Recall that when it was the people's choice to hang Jesus or hang Barabbas. Barabbas was a convicted murderer and Jesus who was he? The Son of Jehovah God.
Who did the people choose to go free? They selected Barabbas. Thus Jesus was killed but even before being killed. They spit on him. They punched him. They Tortured him. Others slapped him. This is the son of God!!!
He spoke truth and those in power or those that did not understand the truth did not get it and instead of trying to understand it, they abused the son of God. Many back then must have thought that Jesus was some kind of a cult leader since many followed what he was saying.
Now, this is what makes me sad. How can anyone tell me that my religion is a cult? In most countries, Jehovah’s Witnesses are generally recognized as honest, clean-living people. Many view them as good neighbors who do not cause any trouble. Yet, ironically, these peace-loving Christians have suffered unjust persecution—in times of war and of peace.
Witnesses are not surprised by such opposition. In fact, they expect it. After all, they know that faithful Christians in the first century C.E. were objects of hatred, so why should those endeavoring to be true followers of Christ today expect to be treated any differently? Besides, the Bible says: “All those desiring to live with godly devotion in association with Christ Jesus will also be persecuted.”—2 Timothy 3:12.
Jehovah’s Witnesses do not seek persecution, nor do they enjoy the hardships—fines, imprisonments, or harsh treatment—it may bring. They desire to lead a calm and quiet life so that they can preach the good news of God’s Kingdom without hindrance.
Witnesses appreciate the religious freedom they have in most lands to carry on with their worship, and they conscientiously do what they can to be peaceable with all men,including the rulers of human governments. Why, then, are we objects of hatred?
Basically, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been unjustly hated for the same reasons that the early Christians were persecuted. First, Jehovah’s Witnesses act upon their religious beliefs in ways that make them unpopular with some. For example, they zealously preach the good news of God’s Kingdom, but people often misunderstand their zeal, viewing their preaching as “aggressive proselytizing.”
Witnesses also are neutral toward the politics and wars of the nations, and sometimes this has been wrongly taken to mean that the Witnesses are disloyal citizens.
Second, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been targets of false accusations—barefaced lies and twisted presentations of their beliefs. As a result, they have been the object of unjustified attack in some lands. Further, because they seek nonblood medical treatment that is in harmony with their desire to obey the Bible’s command to ‘abstain from blood,’ they have wrongly been labeled “child murderers” and “a suicide cult.”
But the fact is that Jehovah’s Witnesses place a high value on life, and they seek to obtain the best available medical care for themselves and their children. The accusation that numerous children of Jehovah’s Witnesses die each year as a result of refusing blood transfusions is totally unfounded. In addition, because Bible truth does not have the same effect on all family members, Witnesses have also been accused of breaking up families.
Yet, those acquainted with Jehovah’s Witnesses know that they highly regard family life and try to follow the Biblical commands that a husband and wife love and respect each other and that children obey their parents whether they are believers or not. Ephesians 5:21–6:3.
In many instances, the principal instigators of persecution of Jehovah’s servants have turned out to be religious opposers who have used their influence with political authorities and the media to try to suppress the activities of the Witnesses.
The only thing that Witnesses try to do is serve God the way he expects to be served and at times that conflicts with those who don't understand just like they didn't understand Jesus.
Take for example Christmas. It's been proven that Jesus was not born on Dec 25th but many still celebrate that day. Now it's also been proven that it's a pagan Holiday. Now ask yourself, Why did God not allow the Canaanites to coexist with the Israelites? Because of Immorality, pagan worship, and child sacrifice were widespread in Canaan.
So if God was against pagan worship, all kinds of pagan worship, then why celebrate a holiday rooted in pagan worship? Why celebrate any holiday rooted in pagan worship? Because we don't we are looked as a cult? Show me anywhere in the bible that Jesus celebrated a birthday? Show me which follower of his did? We are looked at as different because we do our best to follow what is in plain writing and not hard to understand.
But Tradition is hard to break for many who do not understand what is really written in scripture.
Take for example saying a bad word. Notice what Colossians chapter 3 verse 8 says: But now really put them all away from YOU, wrath, anger, badness, abusive speech, and obscene talk out of YOUR mouth.
Looking at this scripture it's clear isn't it but how many people abuse speech? Just about everyone. So we are a cult because we follow what's in the bible? No witnesses will ever ask you to drink poison. No witnesses will hold you against your will. No witnesses allow you to be married to more than one person. Witnesses don't have a camp or place where all witnesses are together. Witnesses aren't private. Our doors and open to all. Our faith is right on our website. Watchtower.org
There is a reason why we are the way we are. We love Jehovah God and follow what is in his word the bible. It may be hard for a person to understand why witnesses don't say bad words since many do but unlike those that do, we do our best to maintain a positive relationship with Jehovah God. Is it easy? It's not. It's very hard. Satan and his system makes it very hard.
We do our best and ask for forgiveness daily because of the mistakes we make in life. Anyway, I'll post more since I want to get back into writing.
