Fine Examples

When I think of fine examples I look to scripture. I look to those who displayed courage while under fire. I look those those men, women, and children who stood up and believed in their hearts that what they were doing was the right thing to do.

I look at those who weren't afraid to look into things I have said on this blog. I look at those who weren't afraid of their husbands or wives and wanted to continue learning scripture. I look to those teenagers who stood up and decided that serving God is more important than serving Parent. All of them have put God first in their lives and it shows not only in their conduct but in their daily lives.

To live my example means to live by God standards. While many may find it hard, it's only because they haven't changed what they are used to. Like a smoker who is trying to quit but keeps buying them from the store. You haven't changed what you are used to. Like a guy or girl who uses foul language. It can be hard to break that habit but it can be done, you haven't changed what you are used to. God standards haven't changed. He has the right to make the rules. We should be happy, we should be thankful, we should appreciate that God has an interest in us.

It's us who needs to change our way of thinking, Our way of living if we hope to meet those standards. And it's possible. God would not tell us to do things that we could not do. God would not tell us to put on the new personality if we could not do it and what he tells us is for our benefit is it not?

Let's take for example Fathers. The Best education that a father can give is a spiritual one. Are you doing that? Are you taking an interest in your child's spiritual needs? Are you yourself practicing what you preach? Fathers Children can see right through it. How can you tell your child not to use foul language if you yourself use it? Would Jesus approve of it? If you say no, then why do you do it and yet expect your child not to do it?

Parents who profess to serve the true God need to bear in mind that Jehovah holds them responsible for the welfare of their children until such time as they reach the age of personal responsibility. Fathers and mothers who fail to make proper material provision for dependent children, just like adults who fail to make provision for needy parents, might rightly be described as being worse than a person without faith as mentioned in 1st Timothy chapter 5 verse 8.

A parent who truly loves God will also be anxious to put into practice the excellent counsel that is found at Deuteronomy Chapter 6:verse 6,7. Jesus demonstrated the importance of giving even young children attention. On one occasion toward the end of Jesus’ earthly ministry, people began bringing their infants to him. Evidently believing that Jesus was too busy to be bothered, the disciples tried to stop the people. But Jesus reprimanded his disciples by saying "Let the young children come to me, and do not try to stop them. Jesus even took the children into his arms, thus showing in a touching way the importance of giving attention to young ones.

The Bible reminds us that children are an inheritance from Jehovah. Psalm chapter 127 verse 3 mentions that Sons are an inheritance from Jehovah; The fruitage of the belly is a reward. Do you care for your children as God’s property, a gift that he has entrusted to you? Your child will likely respond if you take him or her into your arms, thus demonstrating your loving care and attention. But to train up a child according to the way for him requires more than simply providing it hugs and kisses. To be equipped with the wisdom to avoid life’s pitfalls, a child needs loving discipline as well. A parent shows genuine love by looking for his child with discipline. But again you have to be the example. Since Jesus is our head are you following his example?

Think about that......
